Artwork description
I am a collage artist and photographer. My primary method of
building is to sew, be it with cloth, paper or other fiber. I
print digitally manipulated original photos and other images
onto various fibers that I run directly through my printer. I
use these images, along with other materials, to build
collages. I often print on transluscent materials such as silk
or fine cotton, layering them for depth and dimensionality. My
work is contemporary twisting common cultural images and icons
just enough to cause the viewer to take a second look or to see
the usual in a different way. My intent is to amuse, remind
and ask questions. |
